Expanding Creative Possibilities with Drone Photography
Drone photography has become an increasingly valuable tool for professional photographers, offering perspectives that are difficult—or impossible—to achieve from the ground. From architecture, real estate, facilities, events, landscapes, and environmental storytelling to video, panoramas, sky imagery, and marketing content, drones can expand both creative options and client deliverables.
Overview of Professional Drone Use, Regulations, and Workflow
This introductory class will provide photographers with a practical overview of how drones can be used professionally and responsibly. We will discuss common applications for drone photography and videography, the distinction between recreational and commercial drone operations, FAA Part 107 certification requirements, airspace and flight restrictions, equipment considerations, and basic workflow issues for capturing and processing aerial imagery.
Who This Class Is For and What You’ll Gain
The class is designed for photographers who are considering adding drone imaging to their services, as well as those who want a clearer understanding of what is involved before investing in equipment or pursuing certification. The emphasis will be on safe, legal, purposeful drone use that supports professional photography, client communication, and sound business practice.
