The Art of Painting in Photoshop

presented by Sandra Pearce, Master Artist, Master Photographer, Craftsman, CPP

Register NOW!!!!!!

Tuesday, March 8th, 2022

This program requires separate registration and fee to attend. PPA members may earn a Continuing Education Merit.

The Art of Painting in Photoshop

Painting in Photoshop is an alternative for you to paint beautiful art pieces rather than attempting to learn a new program. I took many classes from the best Corel Painting instructors in the business. When I did find time to open and actually paint in Painter, I found I had forgotten most of what I had been taught. Photoshop is where we feel comfortable and are familiar with the tools. The learning curve is drastically decreased. I decided to teach myself to paint using what I knew and loved Photoshop.

My Course will cover:

  • How you will paint with the air brush
  • The mixer brush and how it works
  • The different modes to paint with
  • How to extract images for painting composites
  • The financial aspects of adding an art line

Photoshop Painting

Sandra Pearce, Master Artist, Master Photographer, Craftsman, CPP…..
It would be easy to tell you all my accomplishments and awards I’ve experienced over the last 20 plus years. The most important thing I feel you would like to know; I am an artist and I can teach you the tools and techniques for you to be one also. Photoshop is a great program and once you learn the different tools and how they work, a new world will open.

These are the things you will have a chance to learn:

  1. Mixer Brush
  2. Different uses for the Air Brush
  3. Extracting images for painting
  4. We will paint in person this year and I will help with your problems.
I invite you to join me in my learning Photoshop Painting.

The Art of Underwater Portrait Photography

presented by Lori Probst, CPP

March 7th, 2022

This program is part of INSPIRE 2022!!

The Art of Underwater Portrait Photography

Underwater Portrait Photography is a very unique art. The demand is growing all over the country. I am so excited for you to learn about topics such as underwater properties, light, and backscatter. After the science section is covered, we will talk about the diverse underwater cameras and housing options, flashes, settings, nailing white balance incamera, posing, clothing, makeup, how to find a pool, and the business side of underwater portraiture. Lastly, I will process one to two images in Lightroom and Photoshop so that you walk away with a basic understanding of how to retouch an underwater image.

Underwater portrait photography is an exceptional way to express your creativity, and by adding underwater portrait sessions, your business will stand out, even in Pennsylvania! Oh, and did I mention that you don’t even have to know how to swim or put your head underwater to create art? Please, join the class to learn about the possibilities that underwater holds.

About Lori

Lori Probst worked as a nurse for thirty years before beginning a second career in photography. Owning Lori Anne Probst Photography, her specialty is Maternity and Underwater Portraiture. Lori is proud to be a PPA, Certified Professional Photographer. Lori is active in Missouri Professional Photographers of America and is currently serving on the board as the Image Competition Chair. She studies and practices digital painting, competes in print competitions, and will earn her Master Photographer within the year. Lori is passionate about photography and enjoys serving and sharing her expertise with others.

Outside of work, Lori has been married to her husband Jim for thirty-seven years. Jim and Lori have raised three children and have five grandchildren. They are dog lovers, avid scuba-divers, cyclists, and snow skiers. During the summer months, Jim and Lori raise Monarch butterflies. Last year they raised and released 1220 Monarch Butterflies. “It’s a part-time job, but one that brings us great satisfaction as we teach others about the potential Monarch Butterfly extinction”. Raising Monarchs all started with a photo challenge, you will have to ask her for that story.

Art and Photoshop

presented by Thom Rouse

March 7th, 2022

This program is part of INSPIRE 2022!!

Art and Photoshop

For many of us Photoshop has become more than a post-production tool to repair and enhance our photographs. Photoshop is an all-new visual medium unto itself –a blank canvas from which we create images beyond the boundaries of conventional photography.

Thom’s program will involve hands on Photoshop with demonstrations of techniques geared toward fine art. You’re encouraged to bring a lap top and play along. We’ll also be discussing creative process, inspiration, art history, and concept development. The new digital technologies allows us to create anything we can imagine. Photoshop technique is important, but what will define us as artists is the concept, creativity and impact of our images.

About Thom

Thom Rouse began his career as a portrait and wedding photographer in 1994. Based near Chicago, he now divides his time between commercial, fine art and commissioned fine art images with his clients as the central subject of his pieces. His conceptual fine art images utilize real world photographs blended and manipulated to create an alternative to real world perception. Thom also lectures and teaches workshops on topics ranging from Photoshop as an artist’s tool, visual literacy and lighting and posing for figure studies.

Thom holds the PPA Master of Photography degree, the Award of Excellence, the Master of Electronic Imaging degree, and the Photographic Craftsman degree. He is a Fellow in the American Society of Photographers, Asp educational associate and a member of the Camera Craftsman of America . He has 64 PPA loan Collection images and has won the ASP Gold Medallion twice. He has received numerous Photographer of the year awards, the Kodak Elite award, the Canon Par Excellence Select Award as well as numerous Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards. Thom’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States as well as Canada, China, Japan, Korea, and Europe.
